The Iceland award

Rules for The Iceland award

The Award is available to all Radio Amateurs and SWL's. The Award is printed for each applicant on a 106 g/m²   297X210 mm Special Ink Jet paper in multicolors. The Award was first issued in May 1995 and the first applicant was OH3-911 Veijo Saarinen from Finland. The Award will have a different look every year and the sample shown is for the year 2011.

  1. The Award is available to all licensed Amateurs and SWL's.
  2. The Award is awarded for contacting or hearing Icelandic Amateur Radio stations with in one calendar year, that is from 00.00 hours January 1st to 23.59 hours December 31st, and can therefor be applied for every year provided that the necessary contacts are made.
  3. There are no band or mode limitations.
  4. Requirements:
    • Amateurs outside Iceland: Contact at least two Icelandic Amateur Radio stations.
    • Icelandic Amateurs:Contact at least seven Icelandic Amateur Radio stations.
    • Please note: Contacts with stations which are /TF or TF/ are not valid for this Award.
  5. Contacts do not have to be confirmed but a list showing all QSO details like stations worked, day, month, year, time, band, mode and report must be submitted.
  6. First Award issued to a DXCC country each year will be endorsed as such and single band/mode achievement will be endorsed upon request.
  7. The starting year for the Award will be 1995.
  8. Applications much have reached the Award Manager before the end of June the year after the application year, that is, for example, applications for 2008 must have reached the Award manager before the end of June 2009.
  9. Fee for "THE ICELAND AWARD" is 8 IRCs, 5.00 US dollars or 5.00 Euro.
